Normal Routine...

Normal Routine...

I don’t know if you’re in a location that has started to open up, but I am.  I decided to take it slow reintegrating back into society.  Now I sound like someone in a weird sci-fi experiment.

I have been waiting for the gym to open.  When word came down the gym was open, I was ecstatic.  I didn’t rush in immediately.  Let me back up.  I think I mentioned this last year, I am a gym wife.  Yep, that’s a real term. What’s a gym wife you ask?  That’s a woman who hits the gym at least five days a week.  Gym wives aren’t concerned with their looks at the gym, because they are there to get their exercise on.

Before the shelter in place order, I went four to five days a week.  My daily consisted of 20-30 minutes cardio and another 30 plus minutes lifting weights.  I had been going faithfully for almost a year.  I stopped hitting the scale, because muscle mass weighs more than fat.  My way of gauging my progress is photos and a measuring tape.

In less than a year, I had lost 33 inches.  That’s right, your girl is serious about her goal to shed the fat and get lean.

In a previous post, I shared the challenge I was having locating resistance bands.  I finally found a set just when I got word, the gym was opening.

I did a one day my first week back to the gym and two days the following week.  I was working my way back to five days a week.

I thought everything was fine, until I got a staph infection.  I was shocked.  How could this be when I saw the staff cleaning and I cleaned the equipment before and after each use.  So how did this happen?  I wish I knew.

I shared this to say, my new normal means, per my doctor I need to make sure most of my skin is covered while working out.  Bummer.  But the other side is, risk another infection.  I already hear you saying, “Switch gyms.”  Sort of easier said than done.  The only other gym  close to me, might be closing  and who says the same thing wouldn’t happen again…not that I’m saying it will.

Funny thing is, I see people at the gym with almost every inch of their body covered, plus a towel to cover the part of the machine that might touch their skin.

Here’s the bright side…more layers will produce more sweat, which hopefully will mean more fat burned.

In the meantime, I’ll be home gymming until my skin clears up.

That’s how my last couple of weeks went.  How have you been?

Since I can’t leave the house because it means I’m slightly susceptible, I’ve been working on pre-edits for The Good Girl Part Trois.  There’s a part I want to tweak, before sending it to my editor.

The other thing I’ve been working on is my website. Plus I just started a street team. Here’s the link to join [street team link].  This is different from the reader group.  So if you want to join both, do it.

Have you ordered your August Book Box?

If not, head over to the store and place your order.  I really like the new boxes.  They are filled with some of my favorite things.  They’re perfect for treats for those stuck inside.

Have an amazing week.
